Specials - The Harpeggi

Many people who have been gripped by the Oscar fever would have known that the Great Indian Composer A.R.Rahman has been nominated for two Oscars this year.... His song "If I Rise" featuring Dido and A.R.Rahman has been lauded by many for containing interesting sounds.... The Video of If i Rise features A.R.Rahman playing a loop over an almost unknown instrument and Dido singing.... Many told me it was a Finger Pad - a kind of music controller.... But when i came to know it was not a controller but an instrument i was intrigued at this never seen never heard before instrument.... The Harpeggi does not even have a Wikipedia Page so i thought i can put something about the Harpeggi here...... The Harpeggi belongs to a class of instruments called the Tapping instruments..... They are tapped with the fingers to produce sound.... The Harpeggi when tapped produces sounds electronically.... The most interesting part is that a Harpeggi is played like a Piano or a Keyboard but produces sounds like a Electric Guitar ...... The Harpeggi was invented by THE MARCODI MUSICAL COMPANY..... As a bonus i have pasted here the link of a video where the A.R.Rahman purchases a Harpeggi and tries to play with it....... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_6Jt1JyKZg
